SRINAGAR: Two scrap collectors, including a minor, were killed in a fire that engulfed around 80 makeshift shelters in Durbal, Bemina, on the outskirts of Srinagar early Wednesday, officials said.The blaze erupted around 12.30am. Police identified the deceased as Mohammad Noor Alam (27) and Al Ameen (16), both from Delhi. The flames also damaged an empty poultry farm and a tipper.J&K CM Omar Abdullah condoled the deaths and announced ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased. He also directed authorities to ensure immediate relief and all necessary assistance to the affected families.
