Rourkela: Around 100 kg of ganja worth Rs 10 lakh has been seized from two men, who were later arrested, in Kalahandi district and sent to jail on Wednesday. The two accused have been identified as Sriram Gaud (30), the driver, from Bihar, and Bhola Harpal (35) of Balangir district. A country-made pistol with a live bullet has been seized from the accused, said M K Pradhan, OIC of Kesinga excise station in Kalahandi district on Thursday.He said during patrolling at Amath chowk M Rampur road on NH-59 on Tuesday, the patrolling team of Kesinga excise station detected an auto-rickshaw loading some plastic bag and moving towards M Rampur. The team intercepted the auto-rickshaw and found 20 kg each of ganja in five plastic bags. The driver and another man travelling with him were detained and taken to Kesinga excise station. They were later arrested. The contraband was being taken from Kandhamal to Bihar. Excise officials are conducting further probe into the seizure.
