Keonjhar: Keonjhar special POCSO court Special Judge Monalisa Mohanty sentenced a 30-year-old man to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his six-year-old daughter. The court has also directed District Legal Services Authority to provide the victim with compensation of ₹10 lakh under Victim Compensation Act.According to thespecial public prosecutor Sanjay Kumar Paikaray, the incident took place on Feb 12, 2025, when the victim girl was alone at home. Her father abused the minor. Her mother returned and caught the accused. After the girl disclosed that her father had assaulted her repeatedly, her mother lodged a written complaint.Police registered a case under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, arrested the accused and filed a chargesheet. The court delivered its verdict based on the testimony of eight witnesses and the police investigation report.
