A fire broke out at a temporary set in Mumbai’s Film City on Monday, October 5, 2026. The set was of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s ‘Ramayana‘. Thick smoke was seen rising from the area, and videos of the fire went viral on social media. The fire brigade confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
What happened on the ‘Ramayana’ set
According to the Mid-Day report, flames and thick smoke were seen at the location, which caused worry among people on social media. Sharing an update, a netizen tweeted, “A fire reportedly broke out on Nitesh Tiwari‘s much-awaited Ramayana set, sending a huge plume of smoke into the air and triggering panic at the location.”
What the Mumbai Fire Brigade said
According to the BMC’s Mumbai Fire Brigade, a Level-I fire was reported at 4.02 pm behind Reliance Media Works and Prime Focus in Film City, Goregaon East. The blaze was limited to electric wiring, cables and fittings, along with doors, wooden planks, AC units, bamboo, plastic items, sound systems and shooting equipment. All of this was inside a PCR unit on a 100×20-foot temporary set behind Prime Focus Studio.The fire was put out by 4.55 pm. The fire brigade, police, BMC ward control and 108 ambulance services reached the spot. No injuries were reported.
Other shoots are also affected
The shoots of MTV’s ‘Hustle 5’ and ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga 2’ were also disturbed, as both are being filmed in nearby studios. Early reports suggest the fire began on the ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga 2’ set and then moved towards the ‘Hustle 5’ set. There is no official word yet on how badly either set has been damaged.
About ‘Ramayana’
The incident comes soon after YouTuber MrBeast attended a ‘Ramayana’ event in Mumbai with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey, Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari. Ranbir coached him to say ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and also told him about Lord Ram.‘Ramayana’ is one of the most awaited films of the year. It will release in two parts. Part 1 is set to arrive in theatres on Diwali this year, while Part 2 will follow on Diwali 2027.
