Rourekla: Police on Friday arrested a 31-year-old man in Sundargarh district for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl who is partially mentally challenged. According to police, the incident occurred around 4 pm on Thursday when the girl had gone alone to a village pond to take a bath. The accused, a resident of the same village, allegedly raped her. The girl’s mother lodged a complaint on Friday after the victim narrated the incident to her. A court remanded the accused in judicial custody. The victim’s medical examination was done at a hospital. Police said her condition is stable.
