Bhubaneswar: Odisha secured investment intents worth ₹2.43 lakh crore with a projected employment potential of 6.18 lakh jobs during chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s three-day investment outreach to the UAE, which concluded on Friday.The programme across Abu Dhabi and Dubai resulted in 24 agreements, including eight MoUs and 16 investment intent forms (IIFs), following 26 one-on-one meetings and six roundtable discussions with investors, an official statement said. The engagements brought together UAE-based investors, global business leaders, sovereign and institutional stakeholders, Indian diplomatic representatives and members of the Odia diaspora.The final day of the visit featured Odisha Investors’ Meet-UAE 2026 in Dubai, attended by around 400 business leaders and investors. “We presented Odisha’s strong industrial ecosystem, investor-friendly policies and opportunities across emerging and high-growth sectors, inviting UAE businesses and investors to partner in Odisha’s continued growth and development,” Majhi shared on X.Among the major agreements, CAZBAA Project Ventures FZCO signed an MoU for LNG storage, while Rana Holdings Limited committed investments in green energy, AI data centres and rare earths. Sharaf Group signed an agreement in the housing sector and PTCL Infrastructure expressed interest in steel and downstream manufacturing.Investment intents were also received from Dalwin Marine and Turbo Power Engineering for ship-repair facilities, Ion Technologies Pvt Ltd for a propellant manufacturing plant and Agrifields FZCO for fertiliser and chemical projects.On the sidelines of the roadshow, Majhi held a series of one-on-one meetings with leading UAE-based business leaders and investors, focusing on manufacturing, technology partnerships, value-addition opportunities and long-term investment prospects in Odisha.The chief minister also interacted with the Odia diaspora in Dubai, where over 800 members of the community welcomed him. Majhi lauded the diaspora’s role in strengthening the state’s global identity and maintaining cultural ties abroad.Majhi also visited Emirates Global Aluminium to study advanced aluminium manufacturing and value-addition practices that could support Odisha’s downstream industrial ecosystem.Describing the UAE outreach as a major step towards Odisha’s next phase of industrial growth, Majhi said the state was positioning itself as a hub for value-added manufacturing, technology-driven industries and global partnerships.
