Keonjhar: A fast-track court in Keonjhar on Tuesday sentenced a 26-year-old man to 10 years’ imprisonment for cheating and sexually exploiting a young woman on the false promise of marriage. Judge Bijay Kumar Mishra awarded the sentence to Ajay Kumar Patra, a resident of Daitari police station area in Keonjhar district, and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. If he defaults in payment, he will have to undergo an additional six months’ imprisonment. The court also recommended that the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) provide compensation of Rs 7 lakh to the victim.
