Kendrapada: Jajpur police on Wednesday night arrested seven criminals, including a criminal from Bihar, for their involvement in crimes in the district and nearby areas. They have been identified as Dharmaveer Paswan (24) of Aruara village under Ariari police station in Sheikhpura district, Bihar, Bapun Das (25) of Jalasukha village under Dharamshala police station, Kuna Das (35), Aju Das, Rama Das (38) and Bhaju Das (35) of Tihidi village in Bhadrak police station and Ramakanta Sahoo (54) of Begunia village in Balasore district.“Police have seized two revolvers, five rounds of live bullets and many stolen goods from them. Paswan married a girl at Jalasukha village under Dharmasala police station last year. He formed a gang and committed many crimes in the area with the help of other criminals. During interrogation, they confessed that they were involved in many robberies and dacoities in the recent past,” said SDPO (Jajpur Road) Sarat Chandra Patra.On Thursday, they were produced in a local court. The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them in jail custody.
