Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt on Tuesday approved 19 industrial projects worth Rs 3,280.58 crore with the potential to generate 10,661 jobs. The projects received clearance at the 150th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by chief secretary Anu Garg. The approved investments span sectors including biofuels, textiles and technical textiles, food processing, steel downstream, chemicals, plastics, circular economy, tourism and knowledge-based services.The projects will come up in Angul, Deogarh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Cuttack, Khurda, Koraput, Puri and Sundargarh districts, while a major biofuel project will be implemented across eight districts.Biofuel attracted the highest investment. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd will invest Rs 960 crore to set up compressed biogas manufacturing facilities with a combined capacity of 39,600 TPA across Balasore, Balangir, Bargarh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Subarnapur districts, creating 760 jobs. Kineta Global Ltd will establish a compressed biogas plant in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 170 crore and generate 170 jobs.In the textiles sector, Dollar Industries will set up an integrated hosiery manufacturing unit in Khurda with an investment of Rs 125 crore, creating 1,185 jobs. Sai Workwear Pvt Ltd will establish a technical textiles and protective workwear unit in Puri with an investment of Rs 59 crore, generating 3,650 jobs, the highest employment among the approved projects.Food processing projects include a Rs 120-crore snacks and savouries manufacturing facility by Geofast Industries in Khurda and a Rs 100-crore food and confectionery co-packaging unit by Jai Bhawani Foods Pvt Ltd in Cuttack.Three projects in the steel downstream sector secured approvals, including a Rs 140-crore steel structures facility by SPS Arihant Steel Structures Pvt Ltd in Deogarh, a Rs 108.82-crore fabrication and machining unit by Steeledge Fabrication in Sundargarh, and a Rs 101.99-crore galvanised steel products unit by Bhubaneswar Udyog Pvt Ltd in Cuttack.Among other notable investments, Tata Power will establish a Global Capability Centre in Khurda with an investment of Rs 54.31 crore, while Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Ltd will invest Rs 401.63 crore in a PP woven and non-woven fabric manufacturing facility in Khurda.Five tourism projects, including luxury hotels and resorts in Puri, Ganjam, Jharsuguda and Koraput, also received approvals. “The approvals at the 150th single window clearance meeting reflects the growing diversity of Odisha’s investment landscape. Our focus is not only on attracting investments but also on creating productive employment and strengthening industrial ecosystems across regions,” the chief secretary said.
