The Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match between Odisha and Services remained at the mercy of the weather as the entire third day’s play was washed out at KIIT Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.Intermittent rain throughout the day, coupled with strong winds and stormy conditions triggered by Cyclone Arnab, left the outfield unfit for play. It was the second successive day to be lost without a ball being bowled after Day 2 was also washed out.Only the opening day has produced any action so far, with Odisha being bowled out for 194 before Services reached 13 for no loss at stumps. Having restricted the hosts to a modest total, Services were well placed to push for a first-innings lead and the valuable three points that come with it.However, with two complete days lost to weather, those hopes are fading rapidly. If conditions improve on the final day, Services will have limited time to surpass the Odisha total. Should rain have the final say once again, both teams will be forced to settle for a point each.
