NEW DELHI: “Guess how many seats Congress won?” asked PM Narendra Modi Wednesday, turning to biting sarcasm — and adding a playful emoji to boot — to rip into the opposition party as it stared at a rout in the MLC elections held through ballot papers for 28 seats across four states.“MLC elections in 28 seats across 4 big states — Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and Karnataka. Elections held using ballot papers. Guess how many seats Congress won?” Modi said on X.It was at once a taunt that underscored Congress’s continuing troubles and a rebuke to the opposition party’s claim that BJP’s successes are because of the manipulation of EVMs and electoral rolls.
