Bhubaneswar: The corporator of ward no. 37 in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Bandita Pal (BJP), was suspended for a day for shooting live the proceedings of the civic body’s meeting on Tuesday. BMC mayor Sulochana Das said she suspended her as per rule for recording live footage of the meeting which is prohibited. “She (Pal) had been raising certain issues regarding proceedings of the Corporation meeting when it was going on. I, the commissioner and other corporators were present. Later it was found that she was shooting the meeting’s proceedings,” the mayor said.The corporator questioned the mayor saying she doesn’t have power to suspend her. In another development, BJD corporators staged a dharna before the start of the corporation meeting protesting against the delay in approval of Rs 100 crore for sanitation.
