Bhubaneswar: Housing and urban development department has revised the timeline for ward delimitation, division and seat reservation in urban local bodies ahead of the next ULB elections.The new schedule applies to the municipal corporations of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur and Rourkela, along with 99 municipalities and NACs in the state. Boudh district has been kept out of the exercise.Municipal commissioners of the four corporations have been asked to send details on ward division and reservation in forms I and II, with sketch maps, to the department by Oct 8. Draft notices seeking public objections and suggestions would be issued on Oct 22. The last date to submit feedback is Oct 31.For the 99 municipalities and NACs, district magistrates would issue draft notices on Oct 12. Objections and suggestions can be filed till Oct 21. Provisional notices would be published on Oct 28.Appeals against provisional notices can be filed before the govt from Oct 28 to Nov 11. District magistrates must send the appeal petitions with their comments to director, municipal administration, by Nov 12.The appellate authority will hear and dispose of the appeals between Nov 18 and Nov 25. Final notices, with required changes, will be issued by district magistrates on Nov 30.Municipal commissioners, district magistrates and executive officers of the ULBs have been told to follow the revised schedule and complete the process within the fixed deadlines.
